I want to paint more than 1 pet? can I do that?
Yes you can. For the IN-PERSON workshops, you can paint 2 pets on 1 canvas, you will need to work swiftly to compete both during the workshop. In the ONLINE 4-week camp, you will paint 2-3 portraits in 4 weeks, you can paint the same pet or various pets. In the ONLINE Self-paced option, You will have access to the full course and can paint as many pets as you want during the timeframe of your purchase (monthly subscription). Happy Painting! This seems a bit much for me, Are there easier paintings for me to try?
Yes, Lovejoy has options for you to learn painting with different subjects (landscapes, flowers, old master paintings) Check out the "Creative Camps" & "collections" to gain your confidence in painting and learn the basics of acrylic painting. then come back and paint your pet.
I've never painted before, is this course for me?
Yes! these courses are for you (any age). Perfect for first-time painters! You will be guided step by step through the process of painting your pet. You will learn basic art concepts and skills that you will be able to take into all your future creative projects. Lovejoy has over 15 years teaching beginners and teaching paint your pet
I can't even draw a stick figure, no way I can draw my pet!
Don't worry, you don't have to draw a stick figure! You will print your pet's photo then trace & transfer the outline to the canvas using carbon paper or graphite transfer. This will be covered in STEP 1/Week 1. For painting you will be making dot or dash marks for the fur. You are encouraged to embrace your inner 5-year-old and have fun. YOU will be proud of yourself for getting creative and stepping out of your comfort zone!
How is the online course different from your in-person workshops?
This course is available to anyone in the world. I created the course for all the people who wanted to but could not attend one of my in-person workshops. You will actually learn more in the online course because I will teach you all the prep work, tools, and color mixing that usually did for my workshops, so you will walk away with a better understanding of painting in general and can explore other subjects with more confidence in your skills. How to I sign up for the Course?
Click on the link of either the: In-person Workshop: San Diego or ONLINE: 4-week camp or the ONLINE: Self-paced option. Each option has its way to sign up. Each option is a stand-alone course. Choose the option you prefer or a combo of options. the online options are great before or after an in-person workshop

Are refunds available if I don't like the course
Sales on all Online courses are non-refundable. We will try to resolve any issues. email [email protected], Please include your name and email used when registering (For in-person workshops, there is a 48 hr cancelation policy for reschedule or refund) We recommend trying the free courses to see if you like painting and Lovejoy's teaching style.
Where does my money go? Is this a corporation or an individual?
In this day and age, we want to know what and who our money is supporting. For "Paint with Lovejoy" your full payment goes to Lovejoy, the individual artist. Lovejoy created, painted, edited and produced this course all by herself. It was a labor of love, but well worth the effort to help many people find their joy in painting their pet at home.
What about supplies?
For the Online options = there are supply recommendations within STEP 1 course. (Basic Supplies: Canvas, paint, brushes, water cup, & plate) For the In-Person Workshops = your supplies are provided.
I have a Gift Certificate? what do I do?
Yay! I'm so glad you were gifted a course. Look at your gift card - does it say "4-week camp" - if so click on the 4-week camp option and sign up. enter gift code at checkout. If it says " POPArt Your Pet" or "Paint Your Pet (realistic)" Click on the self-paced option, then click on the step that matches your gift card. Enter code at check out.
How Long does it take to paint 1 pet portrait?
Once you have finished STEP 1/Week 1,= (Pick / edit/ print Pet Photo & acquire supplies). You can paint 1 pet portrait in 1 day if you dedicate 2-4 hours and go through all the steps It is ok to break up the steps over 2-3 days and go at your own pace. the point is to have fun enjoy the process and keep on painting.
